and palms, resulting in a picture-perfect retreat.

The beach is home to a
thriving wildlife population with diverse species of bird and fish often being
spotted by visitors, and with many species actually being unique to the
Betalbatim area.
Dotted along the shore, there are a number of shacks belonging
to local fishermen, many of which have become dilapidated over the years, but
which add to the romanticism and uniqueness of Betalbatim.
In light of the fact that there has been a concerted effort
to preserve Betalbatim beach, you will not find a vast array of tourist
attractions such as water sports or go-kart tracks as seen on other beaches in
Goa.

pursue; relaxing, fishing or climbing aboard a local fisherman’s boat to
observe the dolphins which are found just a short distance out to sea.
Visitors
will also find a diverse range of local food stalls on the beach offering
predominantly Indian dishes and cuisine unique to Betalbatim.
Due to the continuing efforts to
preserve Betalbatim by the local population, visitors are often actually drawn
to stay in the locally run hotels and beach huts.
Overall, Betalbatim beach is a beach primarily suited to
those seeking a romantic getaway, or for those wishing to avoid the large
numbers of visitors which are often found on the majority of beaches in Goa.
